Kolkata Police served notice to Tripura CM’s OSD under Section 41A of CrPC

News Desk: Kolkata Police on Tuesday served a notice under Section 41 A of CrPC to Sanjay Mishra, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, and summoned him to appear at Narkeldanga Police Station in North Kolkata in connection with an FIR lodged against him on November 3. The notice said non-compliance might result in his arrest as per law.

In the FIR, OSD Mishra has been accused of offense in a place of worship, public nuisance, forgery, document forgery, defamation and causing fear or alarm among public. He has also been accused of violating Section 54 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.

Mishra was not available for his comments. A state government official, said Mishra did not travel to West Bengal in the past few months and questioned how a case for violating Disaster Management Act could be lodged against him at Narkeldanga. “The police may serve notices under Section 41 of CrPC to anyone for investigation. But he didn’t visit West Bengal in last few months. It is strange” the official said.
