Police brutality in Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Ram Rajya’

News Desk: In Yogi Adityanath’s ‘Ram Rajya’ Gaurab Bansal, a journalist of Hindi daily ‘Punjab Keshari’, was locked up and given ‘third degree’ torture, for allegedly behaving rudely with the police personnel at the counting center.

On March 9, a police officer lodged a complaint against him. He claimed that Bansal had created unrest by spreading rumors of replacing EVMs. He also interfered with the work of the police. As a result, some policemen were injured.

The journalist and 15 others have been charged for rioting and assault, among other sections of the Indian Penal Code. Although the journalist’s lawyer Aadhar Sharma claims that all the allegations against his client are false. Police have targeted his client for doing his duty. The lawyer also claimed that his client had been abused in various ways.
