Debjit Mukherjee: Tensions between Canada and India rise over Khalistani militant murders. Both countries have expelled each other’s diplomats. As a result, the situation has become more complicated. In this context, the security of the Canadian Embassy in Delhi has been increased.

Additional forces of CRPF and Delhi Police have been deployed to secure the Canadian Embassy. According to sources, the Khalistan dispute has created a hostile attitude towards Canada. As a result, the threat of an attack on the country’s embassy has increased. Besides, separatists may launch ‘false flag’ attacks to tarnish India’s image on the international stage. Therefore, the administration does not want to have any defect in the security of the embassy. Hence the decision to deploy additional security guards has been taken.
