Women Reservation Bill introduced in the new parliament building

Debjit Mukherjee: “The new parliament building will be named Parliament House of India and the old parliament building will be called Sangvidhan Sadan,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Tuesday. On this day, the Women Reservation Bill was presented in the new parliament building. Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal introduced this bill. The Prime Minister said that the Women Reservation Bill will be named ‘Nari Shakti Bandan Adhiniyam’.

He said, “This bill was introduced several times during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure. But this bill could not be passed due to lack of sufficient support. But I think God has chosen me to carry this bill forward.”

It should be noted that the debate started in the Lok Sabha before this bill was introduced. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this bill could not be passed in the Parliament earlier despite attempts. So this bill will be brought again in the Lok Sabha. However, Congress MP Adhir Chowdhury strongly opposed Modi’s comments. He claimed that there was a plan to bring such a bill for women during the Rajiv Gandhi era. But PM Modi is now trying to mislead everyone with wrong information about this bill.
