News Desk: Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi left for overseas for her annual medical checkup. The Congress in a tweet said “Congress president Sonia Gandhi is travelling today onwards for a routine follow up & medical check-up, which was deferred due to the pandemic. She is accompanied by Rahul Gandhi. We take this opportunity to thank everyone for their concern & good wishes”
The two will miss the opening part of the Parliament session starting Monday in which Congress is set to oppose three ordinances passed by the Narendra Modi government concerning agriculture and grain markets. Congress has accused the Modi government of using these legislations to defeat the “green revolution” and stangle the farmers.
