“They favoured the BJP so much, they were finished. BJP is no shahenshah”: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

News Desk: A day after powering TMC to an astounding win in the West Bengal election, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said BJP was no shahenshah and the Left was wiped out as it favoured the saffron party too much.

Banerjee secured a third straight term in office in West Bengal, with the TMC winning 213 seats and BJP bagging 77 seats. The TMC secured a vote share of 47.94 per cent. The Congress and Left, which ruled the state for
decades, failed to win a single seat.

“They (Left front) favoured the BJP so much, they were finished. BJP is no shahenshah. We work 24 hours and those who stick with people fight off all challenges. We’ve stopped the path of destruction. The people of Bengal have,” the TMC supremo said.
