West Bengal: Businessman and his family murdered in Singur, cops suspect relative

News Desk: In a shocking incident reported from Hooghly district of West Bengal, a businessman and his other family members were found murdered. The incident took place in Singur area on Thursday morning.

The other murdered victims include businessman Dinesh Patel’s father, son and wife. Dinesh owned a wood saw mill in Nandabazar area of Singur.

Police said the main suspect in the case is a relative of the family. Eyewitnesses told police he was seen leaving the spot. The accused is identified as Yogesh Dhawan, who is a cousin of the deceased businessman.

“Around a month ago, Dhawan had come from Gujarat to work at the saw mill” said a police officer.

The bodies of Dinesh Patel and his 46-year-old wife Anusuya were found in one of the rooms in the factory premises where the family used to reside. The bodies of Patel and Anusuya had multiple injuries supposedly inflicted by iron rod.

While the bodies of Dinesh Patel’s father and son were found lying in a nearby room. The victims died at Kolkata’s SSKM Hospital after they were moved to West Bengal’s capital.

Police said they are conducting raids to arrest the accused. Cops believe that some property dispute may be behind the murders.
