News Desk: A girl gang raped at a village under Bichhawan police station in Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh, in a video, alleged that a sub-inspector Ativir Singh assaulted the gang-rape victim and tried to force her to change her statement.
The Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Rai has taken cognisance of the video and attached the sub-inspector to police lines and also ordered a departmental probe against the police officer.
Actual Incident
On July 9, the girl was held hostage in a field by a man from the village. While the man left after abandoning the victim, two other men came and raped the girl and on July 12, the girl was recovered from the field in an unconscious state. She was later taken to the police for filing a case.
The victim’s brother alleged that police dilly-dallied in filing an FIR and the girl’s parents were not allowed to meet her at the police station. Meanwhile, police have arrested the man Santosh who abducted the girl and sent him to jail.
On July 14, a video of the girl went viral wherein she alleged that sub-inspector thrashed her and forced her to change the statement in the case.
The SP has asked Circle Officer Bhogaon, Amar Bahadur Singh, for a detailed report in the case. SHO Videsh Kumar Tyagi said the two gang-rape accused are still absconding. The SHO said they will be arrested soon and sent to jail.
