West Bengal: CM Mamata Banerjee blocked Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Twitter

News Desk: West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar took to Twitter on Monday to share the contents of a WhatsApp message he sent to CM Mamata Banerjee.

As per the Governor, the message he sent to the Chief Minister read: “Dialogue and harmony amongst constitutional functionaries is essence and spirit of democracy and mandate of the constitution. This can blossom with mutual regard and respect.

“There has been all through highest personal regard for you from my side. Am sure this will receive your thoughtful consideration”.

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar also mentioned in his tweet that his message to CM Mamata Banerjee was “read” at 10.25 am on Monday.

Earlier in the day, the West Bengal Chief Minister held a press conference where she told reporters that she had “blocked” Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Twitter.

“Every morning and evening he tweets accusing and attacking us. As if he is the only supreme and we are bonded labourers. I cannot take it. I have blocked him today on Twitter” CM Mamata Banerjee said as per a statement by the West Bengal government.

The Chief Minister also accused Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar of “tapping phones” and “threatening” the state’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP).

“We have been patiently suffering for the past year. He [Governor] has not cleared several files. He is keeping every file pending. How he can speak about policy decisions” CM Mamata Banerjee said in her press conference.

The West Bengal Chief Minister also said that she has written “several letters” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.

“Why PM has not removed him? Pegasus is running from Governor house. He is tapping phones” she said.

Taking the cue, Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien also took to Twitter on Monday to say that he too had “blocked” the Governor on Twitter.
