News Desk: Unimaginable success of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Student Credit Card’ scheme. Students in the state are getting huge loans through student credit cards. Already the amount has exceeded Rs 600 crore. If all goes well, it will exceed Rs 1000 crore in April.
According to official sources, about 1,80,000 students have so far applied for student credit card loans. Of these, 21,500 students have already received loans. Another 55,000 applications are awaiting approval. Nabanna hopes that a large part of loan will be approved by April. Special camps for student credit cards will be held across the state on April 7 to ensure that students can easily avail the benefits of student credit cards. Students can go to that camp and apply for a loan. They can also submit documents in that camp.
