News Desk: In yet another shocking incident of crime reported from Uttar Pradesh, a 14-year-old was allegedly raped and murdered by two youths in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra. One of the suspects is 15 years old, a report said on Monday.
Minor girl gagged, dragged, raped & murdered
According to the police, on Friday afternoon, 18-year-old youth, identified as Rahul, gagged and dragged the 14-year-old girl to the nearby forest area when she had gone to relieve herself. He and the 15-year-old boy then raped her in the forest area. Police suspect that she might have got suffocated to death as the accused had gagged her with a cloth. The duo later disposed off her body in a pond.
The minor girl’s family members began searching for her when she didn’t come back home after a considerable time. One of her family members found her body, following which the police were alerted and an investigation was taken up.
Police crack case
The victim’s post-mortem report confirmed that she was sexually assaulted and stated “smothering” as the cause of her death. Police investigation revealed that the involvement of Rahul, who used to work as a daily wage labourer for the victim’s father, and a 15-year-old village boy in the crime. Both were taken into custody on Sunday, according to a report by The Times of India.
Police found that Rahul was sacked from the job and was also thrashed over some matter. Police suspect that he might have committed the crime in vengeance, the report stated.
A case has been registered against the two accused under sections 376-D (gang-rape), 302 (murder) and 201 (disappearance of evidence), police said. The minor accused will be produced before the juvenile justice board and sent to a juvenile centre, they added.
