Amta’s public awared for action against child marriage and child trafficking

News Desk: Nehru Yuva Kendra, Howrah under the Ministry of youth affairs and sports, government of India has organised a seminar in collaboration with UNICEF and CRY to aware local public against the atrocities of child marriage and child trafficking. During the program guest speaker Mr Mohammed Basar Ali, explained the problems with child marriage and how to tackle them in remote areas. He also explained understanding and identifying the vulnerability of children through child protection lenses and focused on child marriage child trafficking and child labour in context of Covid 19.

District youth coordinator of Howrah Miss Arunima brought into the focus the present situation of child trafficking and child abuse which was in enhanced during the covid-19 situation. She enlighten the audience by telling her ways to stop domestic violence against child and improve the condition of children and motivated them to get enroll in mainstream education system.

The seminar was concluded by Jayati Mal, district coordinator adolescent empowerment programme, who focused on roles and steps been taken by UNICEF by linking vulnerable children and families with concerned stakeholders existing child protection structures and government schemes and services. During the program around 50 people participated and made a where to check the cases of child marriage and child protection.
