Bengal Post Poll Violence: The story so far

After TMC’s victory in the assembly election this year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused TMC workers of killing BJP workers. The arch rival claimed that thousands of BJP workers were killed and many were homeless.

The Calcutta High Court asked the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to look into the matter and submit a report. As per instructions, the NHRC submitted the report. But they also alleged that they were also attacked. The TMC claimed the reports were politically motivated.

After that, the Calcutta High Court asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the alleged violence in the state.
