News Desk: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee created history by winning with a record vote margin of 58,835 over BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal in the Bhawanipore bypoll. In addition, the ruling TMC has won 3-0 by winning the seat of Bhawanipore, Jangipur and Shamshergunj.
After her victory, chief minister Mamata Banerjee at a press conference from Kalighat thanked people for the victory. She said “I thank the people of Bengal. I thank the people of Bhawanipore for supporting me and we have won in all wards”
“My defeat at Nandigram was BJP’s conspiracy. We are fighting that in court. The verdict will come out soon” she added.
She also informed people about the bypolls in four seats.
After her defeat, BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal said “I would like to congratulate Didi for the victory. But at the same time I would like to tell her that please don’t send your party’s people for vote rigging. It creates a bad impression”
Zakir Hossain from Jangipur won by a record vote margin too by more than 90,00. On the other hand, TMC candidate for Shamshergunj won by a margin of more than 20,000 votes.
