BJP legislators sat on dharna outside the assembly

Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: BJP MLAs sat on dharna outside the assembly on Monday, alleging rampant corruption and deprivation against the state government. Haringhata BJP MLA Asim Sarkar was also seen singing several songs about corruption in the state. A similar scene is seen at dharna on Mayo Road. Members of BJP’s Mahila Morcha are sitting there. As today is a public holiday on Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, the Legislative Assembly is closed. BJP MLAs started protesting here by garlanding the portrait of Gandhiji and sitting on the steps of the Assembly. Opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari was in the leadership.

On the other hand, BJP MLAs protested by sitting on the steps of the Legislative Assembly, over former state minister Partha Chattopadhyay, MLA Manik Bhattacharya and MLA Manik Bhattacharya arrested in the recruitment corruption case. In Mayo Road, Suvendu Adhikari said, “The poor people did not get houses even though Modiji gave money for the housing scheme. The Trinamool Congress government has squandered that money. That’s why no one got home.” However, the state president of BJP held a press conference in New Delhi and said, ‘The money has been withheld.” Abhishek Banerjee highlighted this today outside Rajghat.

Suvendu alleged that there is recruitment corruption, Trinamool has looted the money of the people of Bengal by creating more than 1 crore fake job cards in 100 days project. Demanding a CBI investigation into the whole incident, Shuvendu said, “Trinamool Congress leaders have gone to New Delhi to complain about this deprivation. But this does not suit them. Because the Trinamool government has looted the money in the name of development.” BJP MLAs came from the assembly to Mayo Road singing along with the rhythm. MLA Asim Sarkar sang the song. And Suvendu claimed, “Compared to the UPA era, the allocation of various central projects has increased several times during the Modi era. The money is stuck because of the Trinamool policy.”
