Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: Kuntal Ghosh, one of the accused in the recruitment corruption case, challenged the order of Justice Amrita Sinha in the letter case and approached the division bench of the High Court. A division bench headed by Justice Soumen Sen is likely to hear the case next week.
Kuntal Ghosh had written a letter saying that he was being harassed from jail and complained against the officials of the central investigation agency. Special CBI court judge Arpan Chattopadhyay ordered a joint investigation by the police and the CBI following his complaint. But on September 14, the High Court issued an interim stay on the order of the lower court. As a result, the Kolkata Police is not getting involved in the investigation of the case.
After 14 days of Justice Sinha’s order, Kuntal is approaching the Division Bench of the High Court. Kuntal raised the question in the case that why the investigation was suspended without hearing his statement.
