News Desk: The day she took oath, chief minister Mamata Banerjee cleared the release of Rs 550 crore to 20 departments, as development work had been hampered due to the poll process.
On May 5, the CM directed release of the amount from Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) to boost rural infrastructure that can also help battle the Covid pandemic situation. She had iterated that development work had taken a back seat after the poll process started on February 26.
