News Desk: Ex JNU student Umar Khalid was arrested on September 13 under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) for his involvement in the Delhi riots early this year. Police found whatsapp chat which indicates Khalid’s active participation in the riot. His plea of meeting his family while in custody was rejected.
On Thursday, September 24 a Delhi court sent Khalid to judicial custody till October 22, 2020. He was present before Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat through video conferencing at the end of his police custody.
