News Desk: Rs 100 crore defamation notice and criminal case filed against well known writer and Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar for his defamatory remarks against the RSS by RSS worker advocates Dhrutiman Joshi and Santosh Dubey.
“His statements were well-planned and thought, calculated to defame the RSS”: Dhrutiman Joshi
“I saw a news programme where Javed Akhtar drew parallels between Taliban and Hindu organisations to vilify and defame all the organisations working for the Hindu cause.
He claimed that RSS has become a cancer that has spread in society. His statements were well-planned and thought, calculated to defame the RSS and to discourage, disparage and misguide people who have joined or would want to join the RSS.
Javed Akhtar expressed his views without any proof and even after knowing that the highest democratically elected office bearers of the country have been supporters and members of the RSS.
The accused has desperately failed to prove that even one member or supporter of RSS has acted like the Taliban and taken over a state or country undemocratically and if he has spotted a gun-toting RSS supporter”
“Javed Akhtar’s interview has damaged the image and dignity of the RSS”: Santosh Dubey
“Javed Akhtar’s interview has damaged the image and dignity of the RSS. He has succeeded in defaming the RSS as well as its volunteers.
I will file a criminal case and seek damages of 100 crore if he fails to tender an unconditional written apology and withdraw all his statements within seven days from receipt of the notice”
What was Javed Akhtar’s remarks on RSS?
“There is no doubt that the Taliban are barbaric and their actions are condemnable. But those who support the RSS, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and the Bajrang Dal are also like that.
There’s a similarity between Taliban and those who behave like them. I was shocked when I came to know that some Muslims in the country welcomed their rise to power. Most of the Muslims I spoke to were surprised that some people made such statements. In India, Muslims want good employment, good education, and good schools for their children. But, on the other hand, there are some who believe in such narrow thinking- where women and men are treated differently and backwards thinking is kept.
No matter how many radical ideologies are there in India, but India can never become Taliban as majority here is secular. They are civilised and respect each other”
