Derek O’Brien and other members of TMC faced harassment

News Desk: The Yogi Adityanath led UP government is suffering from criticisms from both national and social media after the Hathras gang rape incident. However reports denied rape. But the chief minister is facing difficulties in convincing the nation as the number of rape cases is increasing on a daily basis in his state.

Arch rival Gandhis on Thursday faced cop harassment on their way to Hathras. The All India Trinamool Congress leaders Derek O’Brien, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Pratima Mondal and Mamata Thakur faced similar harrasment too on Friday.

O’Brien complained “I am sick and tired of UP. The arrogant police are mishandling the situation. They have pushed Ghosh-Dastidar to the ground for trying to comfort the victim’s family members. We wanted to offer solidarity to her family”

Mamata Thakur complained “We were going to meet her family but there were not allowing us. When we insisted, the women police personnel pulled at our blouses and lathi-charged at our MP Pratima Mondal. She fell down. The male police officers touched her. This is shameful”
