Manohar Lal Khattar was in Hisar to inaugurate a Covid hospital. Several farmers have been injured in the incident.

Police account

According to the police, miscreants attacked and pelted stones at policemen outside the Chaudhary Devi Lal Sanjivani Hospital. A total of twenty police personnel, including five women, were injured in this attack and are undergoing treatment at the civil hospital, the police spokesperson said.

As per this account, miscreants first broke the barricade installed on the canal bridge and threw it into the canal. They also broke the barricade under the Jindal bridge and entered into a physical altercation with Deputy Superintendent of Police Abhimanya Lohan.

The protesters allegedly entered the Chaudhary Devi Lal Sanjivani Hospital complex set up at Jindal Modern School and removed the barricades planted there. They tried to run a tractor over the policemen, the police said.

Five police vehicles have been damaged in the incident.

The police spokesperson said, ” On the one hand, the state government is building hospitals as fast as possible to provide relief to the people suffering from the pandemic. On the other hand, these people are trying to sabotage and damage such hospitals.”

Thousands of farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, have been camping at the Delhi border points — Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur — since November, demanding the revocation of Centre’s new farm laws and a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP) for their crops.
