Four Congress MPs suspended on Monday for rest of the Parliament session

Debjit Mukherjee: Four Congress MPs – Manickam Tagore, TN Prathapan, Jothimani and Ramya Haridas – were suspended on Monday for rest of the Parliament session for unruly behaviour and disrupting proceedings.

Stating that the people want Parliament to function, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Monday told the protesting members of the House that the government is ready to discuss issues raised by the Opposition. The proceedings of both the Houses were adjourned on Monday amid Opposition uproar demanding a discussion on price rise and inflation. While the Rajya Sabha was adjourned amid a walkout by some Opposition members, MPs trooped into the Well and held up placards to press their demands. Later, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 3 pm..
