News Desk: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s ‘Maa’ canteen is a big success for the ruling TMC party. The initiative was launched in February this year to provide food to the needy at the cost of Rs 5/- per plate. With it’s increasing popularity, the food gets finished well before the closing time.
A security guard named Jakir Naskar said “The food is good. We are happy because of all that we get at Rs 5. Otherwise, I used to spend Rs 35 per day. Now I am saving a lot of money”. Others also praised chief minister Mamata Banerjee for such an initiative.
