Mamata Banerjee presents budget; BJP MLAs walks out chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’: 20 Points

News Desk: As West Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra is currently under medical supervision, so West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee presented the West Bengal Budget 2021 of Rs 2,99,688 crore on Friday and became the first woman to present the Bengal Budget statement for 2021-22. Disruption came when BJP MLAs walked out of the assembly chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’.

On this she said “I’ve never seen such a disruption during Budget presentation. BJP doesn’t even want to have discussions or debate”

  1. “Our government has already started building pucca houses for the homeless tribals and Scheduled Castes. In the next 5 years, 20 lakh pucca houses will be constructed for the homeless, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. All the mud houses will be paved and renovated. I allocate Rs 1,500 crore for this in the next one year. There will be 100 English medium schools for Scheduled Castes (SC) tribes (STs), 500 Alchiki language schools, and one and a half thousand new teachers. An industrial city named Jungle Sundari will be created in Jangalmahal area” 
  2. “I allocate Rs 150 crore for the development of tea garden workers. A large portion of the 3 lakh tea workers in the state do not have a pucca house. The state government has started a project called ‘Cha Sundari’ to build their house. The state government will start working on the project quickly and complete it within the next two years. The state government has decided to give government approval to 200 Rajbangshi language schools”  
  3. “Para teachers have been agitating for a salary hike for a long time. I propose a 3 percent salary hike for them. 1500 para-teachers will be recruited for 500 Santhali schools”

4. “Rs 50 crore has been allocated for financial assistance to madrasas. Rs 10 crore has been allocated for free tuition of helpless                        students of the backward section from the hostel. Rs 20 crore has been allocated for giving opportunity to 10,000 students to do                     internship in government offices every two years under the Yuva Shakti project. Rs 900 crore has been allocated for giving tabs to                 twelfth grade students from this year. It is proposed to run every year”

5.  “We are announcing a new scheme named ‘Matri Bandana’. It will be formed with 10 lakh more self-help groups and distressed                     women. These groups will be provided loans of Rs 25,000 crore from the Cooperative Bank in the next five years. An expenditure of               Rs 150 crore has been proposed for this in the next financial year”

6.  “Due to Covid-19 construction and transport workers have suffered miserably. 45 lakh Construction and transport workers will be               given 1,000 rupees under social security scheme”

7.  “Sharecroppers will also get the benefit of Krishak Bandhu project. It was increased from Rs 5,000/- to Rs 6,000/-. This facility be               effective from June this year. We requested the center to provide funds for the ‘Kisan Samman Nidhi'”

8.  “Free ration system will continue till June 21”

9.  “The state government is announcing a new scheme called ‘Ma’. Under this scheme, the state government will create a common                      canteen where people can have food at a very low cost day and night. We don’t want anyone to stay hungry. An expenditure of Rs 100          crore has been proposed for it”

10. “Duare Sarkar and Parai Samadhan will be conducted twice a year”

11.  “Swastha Sathi card can be renewed every three years and anyone can become a part of it at anytime”

12.  “1.5 lakh refugees will be given land documents in steps . Rs 100 crore has been allotted for this purpose”

 13.  “In the coming 5 years, her government will prepare a new road of 46 thousand kilometers. These rural roads will be connected to the          state highway. Government will construct 4 lane road from Kolkata to Basanti. A 6-lane flyover from Tala to Dunlop will be built.               The government will form a 3 km long route from Ultadanga to Bhangra”

14.  “State Government has proposed to spend Rs 100 crore on the construction of the new industrial corridor of the state. The port will be          constructed at Tajpur for the establishment of industries. A craft city will be built in Raghunathpur, Purulia. Not only this, industrial            corridor will be built up to Dankuni-Asansol-Barjoda. We have allocated a budget of Rs 2000 crore for building the Andal airport.                The airport will be ready in 2 years”

15.  “The incentive scheme will be started to promote tourism in the state. Tourism industries will receive loans between Rs 50 thousand to          Rs 1 lakh”

16.  “New roadways will be constructed in Cooch Behar. New flyovers will be constructed between Paikpara to Sealdah, EM Bypass to                New Town, Ruby Hospital area to Kalikapur and Jadavpur to Prince Anwar Shah Road”

17.  “We are exempting all road taxes due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis”

18.  “IT sectors will receive plots in Rajarhat”

19.  “All the posts of police and administrative department will be filled in the next 3 years. There will be zero vacancy in any post of                    police and administration in 3 years. A new battalion  with the name ‘Netaji Battalion’ will be formed in Kolkata Police Force soon”

20. “We are announcing training center for IPS and IAS aspirants. 100 students will be trained every year and the state government will          take care of their fooding and lodging. They will be given a stipend as well”

 Apart from this chief minister Mamata Banerjee also said “Expenditure in physical infrastructure increased by 3.9 times, agri and allied sectors 6.1 times, social sector 5.6 times, state planned expenditure 7.2 times. Revenue collection increased 2.9 times. State GDP has also increased by 2.7 times”
