Prashant Kishor’s IPAC team detained in Tripura, said not allowed to leave hotel

News Desk: An IPAC team allegedly detained in Tripura, where they had gone to do some groundwork for Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress.

An IPAC source said “The Tripura Police was camping in the lobby since morning and are not allowing to leave  the premises”

“Police said Covid norms were violated. But the team had all the necessary Covid papers” the source added.

Manik Das, a senior police officer of West Tripura, said “The outsiders– around 22 persons — were roaming around in various places. Since Covid restrictions are in place, we are inquiring to verify the reasons behind their arrival and stay in the city. They all underwent Covid tests on Monday, the reports are awaited”
