Debjit Mukherjee: NCP chief Sharad Pawar directly denied the breakdown in the party. His “Ajit is still the leader of our party” comment fueled speculation. Political circles believe that Congress and Shiv Sena (Uddhav camp) will be under pressure.
He said, “There is no doubt that Ajit is still the leader of our party. Yes, some leaders have taken a different political stand. In a democracy, they can take that. When there is a division at the national level in a party, it can be called a breakdown. But not in this case.”
