Stone attack on BJP activists during their rally in Kolkata

News Desk: BJP activists were pelted with stones allegedly by TMC workers during a saffron party’s rally in Kolkata on Monday. The rally was attended by Union minister Debasree Chaudhuri, state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh and former close aide of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Suvendu Adhikari, who recently switched over to the BJP from the TMC.

In a clip of the incident, a group of people can be seen pelting stones at BJP workers and waving TMC’s flag. Some were also heard shouting “go back” slogans.

Criticising the incident, Adhikari said, “Boys from mini Pakistan and those associated with Kolkata corporation administrators were throwing stones. It was worth seeing the way our boys chased them away. It reminded us what Modi ji says — ‘ghush ke maara’.”

The BJP leader also said that he will either defeat Mamata Banerjee in Nandigram or will quit politics.

The incident took place hours after Banerjee’s rally at Nandigram where she announced her decision to contest the upcoming election in the state from Nandigram, the home turf of political heavyweight Adhikari.
