“The BJP indulges in lies, kills people; it holds rallies and kills people”: Mamata Banerjee

News Desk: In an administrative meeting at Raniganj on Tuesday, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee accused arch rival BJP of killing its own party members at its rallies. She said “The BJP indulges in lies, kills people; it holds rallies and kills people”

She added “Coal mafia are thriving under the saffron party. I had proposed that illegal factories be legalised by the Centre and the state jointly, so that people get employment. The Union government, however, did not respond”

On the death of BJP worker Ulen Roy at the protest march in Siliguri, the state police said that as per autopsy report Roy has been shot dead. They tweeted

“As per the PM report death was due to the effects of shotgun injuries. Police do not use shotguns. It’s obvious that during yesterday’s protest in Siliguri, armed persons were brought and they fired from firearms. The deceased received pallet injuries from a shotgun fired from close range by a person standing near the deceased in the protest program.

This is unprecedented. Bringing armed persons in protest programs and inciting them to fire is unheard off. There was a malafide intention to create violence by the use of firearms.
CID West Bengal has been asked to investigate. Truth will come out and strong action will be taken against all those who planned and executed the heinous crime”
From the same platform she also thanked the media. She said “The press, the media has an honor. The press, the media helps me a lot. The media highlights who needs what and where”
