“These sort of protests are not acceptable”: Supreme Court

News Desk: The Supreme Court on Wednesday gave their verdict on the Shaheen Bagh protest. They directed that occupying places like Shaheen Bagh is not at all acceptable. However, peaceful protests are acceptable but only at designated places.

The court said “We have to make it clear that public places cannot be occupied indefinitely whether in Shaheen Bagh or elsewhere. These sort of protests are not acceptable and authorities should act… they must keep such spaces free from obstruction. We appreciate the right to peacefully protest and it can be at designated places only”
