TMC Tripura: National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee to hold rally on September 15

News Desk: TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee will hold the party’s first big rally in Tripura on September 15 to protest the attack on newspaper office and it’s journalists. A BJP MLA is also expected to switch sides to the TMC during the rally. Banerjee could also do a Padyatra that day.

Tripura TMC leader Subal Bhowmik said “Tripura has become the place of misrule. Fascist Government is running Tripura. People want change and on September 15, our National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee will come and will give call for change”

Condition of BJP ruling Tripura

The BJP ruling Tripura is marked with violence by the ruling party goons in the recent days. On September 8, the state witnessed attack on newspaper office and it’s journalists. BJP goons ransacked the premises and burnt all documents and destroyed equipments. The state also witnessed vandalising of CPI(M) offices. The opposition offices and vehicles were also set on fire by the BJP goons.

On September 9, the TMC and CPI(M) took to the streets of Agartala to protest against the violence. Leaders like Sitaram Yechury and Abhishek Banerjee tweeted and condemned the attack and also slammed the Biplab Deb led BJP government of the state.

Earlier TMC youth leaders were attacked and were jailed in Tripura for campaigning the state. TMC leaders from West Bengal were also attacked. Even the IPAC team of Prashant Kishor also faced harassment in the state.

News of murder of TMC workers by BJP goons is going on almost on a daily basis in the state.
