Tripura: Information minister Sushanta Chowdhury accused TMC of bringing culture of violence from West Bengal

News Desk: Tripura information minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Monday accused the TMC of creating lawlessness and bringing the culture of violence from West Bengal.

He said “TMC and CPM are playing hide and seek. The people of Tripura have not yet recovered from the pain and sufferings of 25 years of Left Front’s misrule and the state is still facing the challenges of maladministration of the communists but Abhishek felt those unfortunate days were better – it’s really shocking for us”

Criticizing the national general secretary over his language used against Tripura chief minister Biplab Deb, he said “The opposition political parties and leaders have got the right to point out faults of the ruling dispensation but not abuse the constitutional post. The people of West Bengal are facing the autocratic governance of Mamta Banerjee and TMC leaders. There might be some dissatisfaction in Tripura but it is not ruled by criminals like them”

“We had no problem allowing them to hold the rally with 500-1,000 people in front of Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan on the road. Since they were trying to bring a large number of people from Bengal and Assam to camouflage their strength, we proposed they shift. They moved the high court, which agreed and restricted the participants to 500. Obviously, it was a big defeat for Abhishek, as he spoke before 500 people” he said.
