UP Assembly Election: JD(U) likely to contest polls in alliance with BJP

News Desk: Janata Dal (United) is likely to contest the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Election early next year in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party, according to sources. The two parties are already in alliance in Bihar under the tent of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister of Bihar.

As per sources, JD(U) has asked the BJP high command to allow it to field its candidates in twenty constituencies in Uttar Pradesh in the election next year.

Union Minister RCP Singh of the JD(U) has been given the responsibility of negotiation seats with the BJP high command for the UP election in 2022. KC Tyagi, the general secretary of the JD(U), is preparing a report on which constituencies the JD(U) can win in, as per sources.
