West Bengal: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extends support to Kolkata TV, urges media to protest against Center

News Desk: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, on Saturday, extended support to Kolkata TV and urged all journalists of news mediums to protest against this act of Center.

Addressing a press conference, she said “It’s completely upto media and journalists which political party they will support. Center should not ban Kolkata TV on grounds of personal vendetta or else media can protest. Rather I’ll say you all should protest against this”

“It has been seen that whoever is opposing the Center, either they are getting banned or getting arrested. I am with Kolkata TV. I believe Bengal will not like if you ban Kolkata TV” she added.

She also slammed the center today over DVC water discharge issue. “Union home minister sends thousands of Central forces and provides security to every BJP leader. But Centre doesn’t send funds during tough times. What funds did you give us during cyclones Amphan, Fani, Bulbul and Yaas?” she said.
