Bengal bypoll: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee starts her poll campaign, will file nomination on September 10

News Desk: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, on Wednesday, started her poll campaign by addressing TMC workers convention in Chetla. From there, she announced that she’ll file nomination on September 10 and also attacked the Modi government for its revenge politics.

“Modi government unnecessarily harasses those who question it’s governance.

Just after the bypoll dates were announced, our leaders are getting summoned by CBI and ED.

I have to again contest by-poll due to the conspiracy hatched by BJP.

Sovandeb Chattopadhyay won from Bhawanipore. He resigned for me. I’ll file my nomination on the tenth of this month”

Bengal bypoll election: The story so far

The EC announced bypoll for three seats – Bhawanipore, Jangipur and Samsergunj – on September 30. The counting of votes will be done on October 3.

TMC fielded chief minister Mamata Banerjee for Bhawanipore and leaders Jakir Hossain and Amirul Islam for Jangipur and Samserganj seats respectively.

The BJP is yet to decide their candidate for Bhawanipore. The Bengal Congress unit decided that the party won’t field any candidate against the chief minister in the Bhawanipore constituency. Left Front Committee announced that CPI(M)’s Srijib Biswas will be their candidate for the upcoming bypoll in Bhabanipur Assembly constituency.
