“BJP goons will come to your house and seek votes for their party”: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

News Desk: Addressing a rally at Kotulpur in Bankura district on Monday, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee accused her arch rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of imposing restriction on women on what to wear and what not to. The remarks come after Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat recently said that “women wearing ripped jeans” send the wrong message to society and children.

She said “They will make you think that Narendra Modi is bigger than BR Ambedkar. Have you seen how a cricket stadium in Gujarat was renamed after Modi? One day, they will change the name of the country after him. They are selling PSUs to private parties”

She added “BJP is a party of outsiders. They bring goondas to create terror in the state. The BJP has made a false promise of free supply of ration. They will never fulfil this. BJP goons will come to your house and seek votes for their party. Be ready with household utensils to chase away such people if they threaten you”

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also attacked the Left and Congress from the rally. “CPI(M) goons unleashed terror in Kotulpur, Chomkaitala, Jairambati areas when I was in opposition. They had attacked me and are now with the BJP”
