News Desk: Veteran BJP leader Tathagata Roy has described Mukul Roy as a “Trojan Horse” who had infiltrated into the BJP to took back vital information to Mamata Banerjee.
The former Tripura Governor’s tirade comes a day after Mukul Roy switched loyalties to return to the Trinamool fold, four years after joining the BJP.
“Metaphorically, a “Trojan horse” has come to mean any trick or stratagem that causes a target to invite a foe into a securely protected bastion or place. Clearly, Mukul Roy was a Trojan Horse,” Tathagata Roy posted on Twitter.
“After having been welcomed into the BJP, he gained access to its all-India leaders, learned all about the party and its innermost detail, he went back and leaked everything to Mamata (sic),” Tathagata Roy alleged.
“But what’s done is done. Now, the big question is, did Mukul leave back Trojan Horses within this Trojan Horse?” asked the BJP leader.
Mukul Roy returned to his party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC). He had been one of the core team members of the TMC from the beginning. He was one of the senior leaders of the TMC and a Rajya Sabha MP when he joined the BJP in November 2017.
