Crude bombs hurled at BJP MP Arjun Singh’s North 24 Parganas residence

News Desk: Despite tight security, Bengal BJP MP Arjun Singh’s house in North 24 Parganas district faced crude bomb hurling. During the time of the incident, he was in Delhi.

Singh said “It took place around 6:10 am. Atleast three bombs were hurled at my house. Few got injured too”

Police reached the spot and CCTV footage is being scanned to identify the culprits and find out their main motive behind this attack.

What did the locals said?

The bombs were thrown, around 100 km from Kolkata, allegedly by three men on a bike.

A local resident said, “Three bombs were hurled outside Arjun Singh’s residence around 6.30 am on Wednesday. I don’t know who has done this. This has never happened earlier”

How did the Bengal BJP unit reacted?

Condemning the attack, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar tweeted “Wanton violence in WB shows no sign of abating. Bomb explosions as this morning outside residence of Member Parliament @ArjunsinghWB is worrisome on law and order. Expect prompt action @WBPolice. As regards his security the issue has been earlier been flagged @MamataOfficial”

Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh condemned the attack too. He said that the assailants are most probably from the TMC.

Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari tweeted “Hurling bombs at MP @ArjunsinghWB’s residence validates our allegation that the perpetrators have been assured of impunity by their handlers within WB Administration. Otherwise they won’t dare to execute such act. However, @ArjunsinghWB is made of steel, won’t be intimidated”

Bengal BJP vice-president Ritesh Tiwari also criticized the attack and tweeted “MP @ArjunsinghWB Ji’s resident was attacked by miscreants, they came and hurled bombs. If MP and MLA’s house is not secured then anyone can understand the condition of common man in Bengal. This incident shows that goondaraj is continuing in @AITCofficialled @MamataOfficial Govt”
