News Desk: Farmers staged a protest on Monday against Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar near Chandigarh Press Club where the CM was addressing a press conference today on the completion of 2500 days of BJP government in the state.
Heavy deployment of security forces has been made outside the Press Club of Chandigarh in view of the farmers protest against the lathicharge in Karnal.
The farmers are also holding a maha panchayat to discuss the lathi-charge action against them by police in Karnal.
Meanwhile, a Congress delegation of senior leaders including former Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Deepender Hooda, Kumari Selja will go National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) tomorrow against the lathi charge on farmers in Karnal, Haryana.
Earlier, the farmers had decided to assemble in Panipat from where they will proceed towards Chandigarh Press Club to protest against the Haryana Chief Minister and the police brutality against the Kisans in Karnal on Saturday.
At least 10 people were injured after police lathi-charged a group of farmers disrupting traffic movement on a highway while heading towards Karnal in Haryana to protest against a BJP meeting.
