Features of BJP politics as opposition in West Bengal

News Desk: The random events that are taking place in West Bengal indicates some common features of the state’s politics under BJP as opposition.

1. BJP’s blame on TMC on law and order of the state

The Bharatiya Janata Party of West Bengal has always been active in their attempt to defame the Mamata Banerjee government. Whenever a party workers clash took place or whenever BJP rallies have been stopped for violation of norms, the BJP leaders of the state as well as the governor Jagdeep Dhankar took a dig at the TMC and claimed it as ‘police state’ or ‘worsening law and order’

2. Involvement of religion and community in politics

Religion and Communal Card’ has also proved as one of the most effective weapons to create an atmosphere of violence in the state. Minority section and groups were always targeted but were backed up by chief minister Mamata Banerjee. From Tikiapara to Telinipara the Bharatiya Janata Party has always targeted the Muslim community and tried to vilify them in the eyes of the West Bengal citizens. In short the ‘Religion and Communal Card’ has been used by the arch rival to hamper the unity between Hindus and Muslims and set them against each other.
