Fourth complaint lodged against BJP leaders John Barla and Saumitra Khan in four different police stations for demanding separate statehood for North Bengal

News Desk: The ruling TMC has registered a complaint against BJP leaders John Barla and Saumitra Khan for demanding separate statehood for North Bengal and alleged that the leaders of the saffron party are trying to divide the state. This the fourth complaint and they have been lodged in four different police stations.

On this, BJP state president Dilip Ghosh on Thursday said “Everyone has to go by the party line. There is space for personal opinions in the party. Democracy cannot flourish by gagging people”

Barla had alleged that people who voted for the BJP were being denied ration and 100-days work under the job guarantee scheme. “In order to escape from such atrocities, I raised the demand for North Bengal to be declared a union territory,” he had said.

“I will take this matter to Delhi” he said while talking to the media at his Lakshmipara tea garden residence in Jalpaiguri, surrounded by people who claimed they were sheltering there from attacks by TMC supporters.
