Debjit Mukherjee: “Gyanvapi Masjid case will not be settled outside court” Hindu side lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain made it clear on Thursday.
He said, “It has no legal value. Order No. 23 of the CPCA makes it clear that no compromise can be entered into unless all parties agree. If any one person a particular party takes this decision alone or wants to settle the case outside court, then they cannot. So this initiative of out of court settlement is not possible under CPC. Because it is not legally possible. Our side is not ready to settle.”
He further said, “I would like to ask how to compromise? A compromise is only possible when you are willing to give up some rights and the other person also gives up some of their rights. We are not willing to give even an inch of land. The way a temple complex has been used as a mosque for so long is highly reprehensible. Muslims should apologise. So there is no question of compromise.”
