Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari and Bhangar MLA and ISF leader Naushad Siddiqui demanded an inquiry into the student death in Jadavpur University.
Leader of Opposition Subvendu Adhikari said, “A student from Kashmir has been arrested in connection with the death of a student in Jadavpur. Who gave this boy a residential certificate? How did that student get an OBC A certificate? He is not eligible to get this certificate. Multiple states are linked. The CBI and NIA should investigate this mattet. When more than one district is involved in an incident, the investigation is done by the state police. Similarly, when more than one state or country is involved, it needs to be investigated by the CBI or the NIA.”
On the other hand, Naushad Siddiqui visited the uncle’s house of the deceased student at Ranaghat in Nadia on Thursday. He spoke to the family members. The ISF MLA has appealed to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for justice.
He said, “Whoever lost his life in ragging is a genius. Those who have been arrested in this incident are also geniuses. So who is instigating ragging? Let us investigate and see which gang they are associated with.”
