Debjit Mukherjee: Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announced the rules of the PM Vishwakarma scheme on the day after Independence Day. He said that 13 thousand crore rupees will be allocated for this project till 2028.
Initially artisans in 18 fields will be brought under this scheme. There will be special identity cards for them. Skill enhancement training and special incentive allowance will be given to them. A total of three lakh rupees will be given as a loan at only 5 percent interest. 1 lakh rupees will be given in the first phase. Another Rs 2 lakh loan will be given in the next phase. However, no information has been released on how to enroll.
