BJP leader seeking protection for himself and his family

The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Tuesday directed the Punjab Police to provide adequate security personnel to former Punjab minister and senior BJP leader Tikshan Sud.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Sud filed a plea seeking directions to provide security to him and his family. He said that he haven’t said anything to hurt the sentiments of the farmers and it’s the oppositions who twisted his statement to infuriate the farmers. He further claimed that threats were given to him under the conviction that he is not supporting the ongoing farmers protest. His family received threat too.

He alleged that on 01st January 2021, Ranvir Singh Khalsa along with 10-15 other persons who were armed with dandas came in tractor-trolley, used abusive language, threatened the petitioner and his servants, endangered their lives, forcibly entered his house and unloaded cow dung-laden trolley at the gate of his house.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Reaction of Congress

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who backed the farmers protest from the very beginning, slammed the Modi government when they underlined in the affidavit “Republic Day parade disruption will be an embarrassment to the nation”

Gandhi tweeted “Martyrdom of more than 60 farmers didn’t embarrass… but Modi government is embarrassed by the tractor rally”

More than 60 farmers have died, according to the protesters, after the agitation began late November. While some have committed suicide, others have died while protesting amid the winter chill.
