Kolkata Police arrested three in connection with death threat to Alapan Bandopadhyay

News Desk: The Kolkata Police have arrested three people in connection with the death threat to former West Bengal chief secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay. The police arrested three people, including a doctor for their alleged involvement in the matter. Bandyopadhyay had recently received a death threat through a letter to his wife. The police arrested a typist after they received a tipoff. The individual reportedly admitted that he had written the letter using a typewriter.

The police team moved swiftly and made further arrests after receiving information from the typist. The team arrested the doctor and his driver from a medical college in the Raja Rammohan Sarani area and Manicktala area respectively.

“The doctor had sent his driver with a draft of the letter to the typist. He has written such letters to several people. It seems that he has a mental disorder. We are probing into the matter” the police said.
