Mahua Moitra reacts to JP Nadda’s attack on TMC

News Desk: BJP national president JP Nadda on Monday attacked Mamata Banerjee and the All India Trinamool Congress Party and said “As far as the CAA is concerned, it has already been passed in Parliament. All of you will get the benefits of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act. We are committed to it. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its implementation got delayed. But as the situation is slowly improving, the work has started. The rules are now being framed and CAA will be implemented very soon. Under this act all the eligible people will definitely get Indian citizenship”

He added “On one hand you have Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji who works for the development for all and on the other hand, you have West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who has employed the policy of divide and rule to serve TMC’s political interests”

On this MP Mahua Moitra took to Twitter and slammed the national president. She tweeted “JP Nadda in WB – says CAA to be implemented soon. Listen up BJP – we will show you the door long before we show you our papers!”

Senior TMC leaders like Derek O’ Brien and Firhad Hakim also slammed Nadda over his comments on chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

O’ Brien said “Pujo greetings to J P Naddaji and his family. In the best traditions of our great state, Bengal, this is the time of the year which is not the occasion for politics or bickering. This is the time for joy and sharing. This culture, this decency, is deeply enshrined in the ethos of every person who lives in Bengal. This irony is not lost when the president of the BJP talks about ‘divide and rule’. ‘Divide and rule’ is a ploy learnt from the colonial past and played out deviously every day by your party. The BJP government at the Centre has done everything it can to divide and rule the people of this great nation over the last six years it has been in power. There were gaping holes in Nadda’s speech in Siliguri but the TMC will not defile this auspicious occasion”

Hakim said “He is making baseless statements and should get his facts and figures corrected. He should stop peddling lies and misinformation. The central government itself has stopped sending funds due to GST compensation and J P Nadda is lecturing opposition ruled states and making politically motivated statements”
