News Desk: Addressing a press conference on Monday, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee said that the Covid situation in the state is totally under control and schools may reopen after Durga Puja after proper sanitization, but will reconsider decision if third wave hits the state. She also urged the Election Commission to announce the by-election in the state.
She said “COVID situation in West Bengal is totally under control. People have the right to cast their votes & to be elected to the Assembly. Election Commission must announce the by-elections as we should not curtail the democratic rights of people”
“We may reopen schools after Durga Puja after proper sanitization. But if a third wave hits us, then we may have to reconsider our decision” she added.
