Mamata Banerjee expressed concern; Abhishek Banerjee gave open challenge to BJP

Debjit Mukherjee, Kolkata: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee expressed apprehension from the platform of Trinamool Chhatra Parishad foundation day at Mayo Road on Monday. “I got a message yesterday that Abhishek will be arrested before the polls,” he said. However, she did not clarify who sent the message. She accused the BJP government of politics of revenge. In her words, “I have seen many governments, but I have never seen such a vindictive government.”

However, Abhishek Banerjee has thrown a counter challenge to the BJP. He said, “My title is not Modi, not Chowksi, not Malya. My title is Banerjee. My name is Abhishek. We know how to fight with our heads up. We don’t surrender.” He also accused a section of the media of spreading wrong news. Not only that, he also targeted the Enforcement Directorate. He also raised slogans for the India alliance from the stage. Abhishek Banerjee’s slogan was, ‘Jitega bhai jitega, India jitega.’ He called for the victory of India Alliance not only in the whole country but also in different parts of the state. At the end, he said, “They have to cross us before touching our leader. We will not surrender. There will be a fight.”
