Opposition leaders, led by Rahul Gandhi, joined farmers’ protest at Jantar Mantar

News Desk: Leaders from 14 opposition parties joined Congress MP Rahul Gandhi at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Friday and staged a protest to support the farmers protesting against the Center’s farm laws. Holding a placard saying ‘Save Farmers, Save India’, the Opposition leaders raised slogans in support of the agitating farmers.

On the protest, Gandhi said “Today all Opposition parties have gathered here to extend their support against the ‘kala kanoon’. We want a discussion on Pegasus, but they are not letting it happen. Narendra Modi has intercepted every Indian’s phone”

How it all started?

According to sources, the leaders met at the Parliament house at 10 am on Friday where they decided to extend their support to the farmers’ agitation. The leaders travelled from Parliament at 12.30 pm in a bus and joined the Kisan Sansad at Jantar Mantar where the farmers are holding a parallel Parliament session in protest against the ongoing Monsoon Session.
