“Rahul Gandhi must apologise to the public and the devout Hindus for his earlier statements”: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

News Desk: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday took a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and asked him to apologise for his earlier statements. Adityanath also slammed Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and said that the latter’s party carried out hooliganism openly during their reign.

When asked about the Loni incident, he said “The truth behind the Loni incident is out. No slogans of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ or Vande Mataram” were raised. It was a matter between two members of the same community. And then, there were attempts to give a communal spin to the incident. When someone gives speeches without aforethought, he becomes a subject of ridicule. And this is what happens to Rahul Gandhi each time”

On allegations against the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra by the Gandhis and AAP leader Sanjay Singh, Adityanath said “None can question my faith or the Faith of UPites in Shri Ram. But, when I hear the term faith from Priyanka and Rahul Gandhi, I get reminded how former Culture Minister Ambika Soni had filed an affidavit denying the existence of Shri Ram. Those who earlier denied His existence are forced to retract their earlier stance due to politics. As such, Rahul Gandhi must apologise to the public and the devout Hindus for his earlier statements”

The chief minister also took a dig on his arch rival Samajwadi Party for the latter’s allegation of women harassment against the BJP. “Law and order has improved now. We did not have any candidate on the particular constituency or have extended support to anyone. Those peddling these baseless theories are the ones who carried out hooliganism openly during their reign in the State” he said.
